Tonight marks the first fight card since officially joining the team at Five Knuckles , and to celebrate the occasion, I'm giving myself a clean slate.
Over the eight months of making picks at Keyboard Kimura (R.I.P. Dear Friend...Gone But Not Forgotten), I was able to amass a record of 143-106-2, which works out to 56.9 percent accuracy with my picks. Is that great? Of course not, but it's a little better than "Smooth" Jimmy Apollo and there is room to improve.
Said improvements begin here, today, with Strikeforce: Miami . In part to save myself some unnecessary losses, but also because the information available on them is minimal, I'm going to rattle off reasoning for six fights—the five main card bouts and my man Jay Hieron taking on Joe Riggs .

The Breakdown
"The Thoroughbred" Jay Hieron (18-4-0) vs. Joe "Diesel" Riggs (32-11-0, 1 NC)
The winner of this most likely faces the winner of tonight's main event for the Welterweight title. Hieron was promised that same opportunity when he signed with the promotion after the fall of Affliction, and while he's saying all the right things heading into this fight, there is no question that the Xtreme Couture member wants that title shot.
Riggs has the power to knock just about anyone out. The one-time heavyweight (it's true—look it up) looked in solid shape at the weigh-ins (always a concern with Riggs), and will be a difficult challenge for Hieron. Unfortunately, Riggs is kind of trading on his name these days. His last fight with a "name" opponent was a decision over Phil Baroni .
No offense to "The New York Bad Ass," but if you're going a full 15 with a guy who has a notoriously small gas tank, the chances of you emerging victorious over the always well-conditioned Hieron aren't so great.
Hieron is faster, more technical and, perhaps most importantly, hungrier than Riggs, and should be able to come away with a win...and hopefully his long-awaited title shot.
Herschel Walker (N/R) vs. Greg Nagy (1-1-0)
There really isn't much to break down.
Walker is a marketing goldmine making his debut, and Nagy is the guy who will be able to get a free drink or two out of being "the guy who lost to Herschel Walker in his MMA debut." What more do I need to say?
Bobby Lashley (4-0-0) vs. Wes Sims (22-12-1, 2 NC)
The third time was the charm in finding an opponent for the former WWE and current TNA superstar. Unfortunately, "the charm" is Wes Sims , fresh off his appearance as part of TUF 10: The Heavyweights.
Sims is an interesting personality and used to have some promise. Not the use of past tense. Now, he's fresh off a first round submission at the hands of Justin Wren during the "elimination round" of The Ultimate Fighter. In that bout, Wren wrestled Sims to the ground, threw on an arm triangle, and had his hand raised.
Bobby Lashley is a better wrestler than Justin Wren . He also carries his 250-plus pounds in a different way than "The Viking," going with more of a muscular approach to Wren's "thick throughout" look.
It will be a little more dangerous than the Herschel Walker fight, but nowhere near "this could be an upset" territory.
Melvin Manhoef (24-6-1) vs. "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler (18-5-0, 1 NC)
Two things are certain to me in this fight: (1) it's not getting out of the first round, and (2) in the words of 50 Cent, "Somebody gon' get laid the *&$@ out."
Lawler has a distinct advantage on the ground; think of the advantage Usain Bolt has in the 100m dash...against me. Everyone and their mother knows that Manheof is tough on his feet and suspect on the ground, which means taking him down and earning a win should be Lawler's plan of attack.
Something tells me that isn't going to happen. Robbie Lawler likes to trade. He likes to bang. It might even be fair to say that he likes getting punched in the face. The problem with that course of action against the debuting Dutch striker is that he has dynamite in his hands.
One of those fist-sized powder kegs will connect, and Lawler will be left looking up at the lights.
Cristiane Santos (8-1-0) vs. Marloes Coenen (17-3-0)
Coenen has more wins, a better ground game, and is more attractive by conventional standards than the female "Cyborg."
Unfortunately, this fight has nothing to do with records, isn't a grappling match, and, as witnessed last August, looks don't win you a fight. Especially not against Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos.
Until further notice—and I recommend this for everyone—if "Cyborg" is fighting, pick her. She is unquestionably the most devastating female fighter on the planet. Megumi Fuji may be collecting submission wins, and Sarah Kaufman is on a tear of her own, but "Cyborg" simply overwhelms her opponents and leaves them broken.
The 145-pound title will remain around her waist for the foreseeable future.
Nick Diaz (20-7-1, 1 NC) vs. "The Whitemare" Marius Zaromskis (13-3-0)
Here's a question for you: Why does Nick Diaz get so much love? While he is unquestionably entertaining and a tough kid, the elder member of the Fightin' Diaz Brothers hasn't beaten any on top-tier talent.
Not to play Revisionist History Professor or anything, but his five-fight winning streak is made up of a self-professed journeyman (Scott Smith ), an over-the-hill former champion (Frank Shamrock ), a regional journeyman who lost to Pat Miletich in 2008 (Thomas Denny ), a guy who can't buy a win in the WEC Lightweight division (Muhsin Corbbrey ), and Katsuya Inoue .
Zaromskis may not be the top of the heap either, but he's been putting people to sleep as of late, utilizing his devastating head kick to finish Ho Bae Myeon, Jason High, and Hayato "Mach" Sakurai in his last three contests.
While Diaz is certainly the more recognizable name, he's never been a knockout artist, and Zaromskis is tough enough to stand in front of Diaz and take his best offerings. Then he'll load up a head kick and have Scott Coker wrap the Strikeforce Welterweight title around his waist.

Already missing Tiger Woods because of a sex scandal, the PGA Tour headed into another mess Friday when a player accused Phil Mickelson of "cheating" for using wedges that are allowed under a legal technicality.
"It's cheating, and I'm appalled Phil has put it in play," Scott McCarron said in Friday's edition of The San Francisco Chronicle.
Mickelson is among at least four players at Torrey Pines using a Ping-Eye 2 wedge that was made 20 years ago and has square grooves. Such grooves now are banned on the PGA Tour because of a new USGA regulation this year that irons have V-shaped grooves.
The square-groove Ping wedges remain legal, however, because of a lawsuit that Ping filed against the USGA that was settled in 1990. Under the settlement, any Ping-Eye 2 made before April 1, 1990, remains approved because it takes precedence over any rule change

The film starts with a mother giving birth to a child – our hero Shiva- on a rainy night in a typical village which detests male babies being born in the village. The ‘Nattamai’ of the village had already passed a decree to kill any male child born to any body in the village for a peculiar reason. The male children don’t stay in the village when they grow up. So the father asks his mother-Paravai Miniamma-to kill the baby. When the old lady is about to feed the baby with branded cactus milk in tetra pack the infant pleads with the grand mother to put him in a goods train so that he can reach the city and become a big man. Why a goods train? Because the infant knew all goods train leaving a village is destined to reach Chennai city.
Touched by the aspiration of the infant the old lady takes the baby herself to Chennai to help him achieve his dream. In Chennai Siva grows at the spin of a cycle wheel up and spends time with his college going friends Nakul, Siddharth
and Bharath – M S Bhaskar, Manobala and Vennira Aadai Murthy. Siva who appears to be a spoiled child actually is an undercover cop like ‘Pokkiri’ Vijay. He eliminates the city rowdies like ‘Thirupachi’ Vijay using techniques of ‘Ghajini’ Suriya, ‘Anniyan’ Vikram and ‘Apoorava Sahodarargal’ Kamal Haasan.
Meanwhile on the other side of his life Siva sees Disha like ‘Kadhalukku Mariyadhai’ Vijay and love strikes like ‘Mozhi’ Prithviraj. Siva expresses his love to her like ‘Maounaragam’ Karthik. But Disha’s father doesn’t approve their love because Siva is poor and doesn’t know who his father is. Humiliated Siva decides to become rich and find his father in the village. He becomes rich in a jiffy like ‘Annamalai’ Rajini and ‘Sivaji’ Rajini. The love finally succeeds.
Then in search of his father Siva lands in his ancestral village Cinempatti like Winner Prashanth. Its a village where couples go to bed only when ‘Vaidegi Kathirunthal’ Vijayakanth starts singing ‘Netru rathiri yamma’ at night. With very little help Siva finds about his father from one of his associate. The associate gives him a CD of the family song which happens to be a ‘Michael Learns To Rock’ number. Armed by the CD Siva belts out the song and he is united with his parents and sister.
Now back to the city. Siva is entrusted with the job of finding the main switch of the rowdy gang called ‘D’ gang. Siva finally manages to reach the main switch Chidambara Rahasiyam Delhi Ganesh. But the real underworld boss of the ‘D’ gang turns out to be Siva’s grand mother. Unperturbed Siva puts duty before family and arrests Muniamma. Muniamma justifies her actions saying only because of her Siva turned out to be true hero. The court accepts and releases all. Siva is promoted as a DIG and Mini amma is recommended for Golden Globe. They all live happily ever after.
When you enter the theater knowing the film is a spoof you don’t expect anything logical. The movie has followed every rule of a parody. It has sarcasm, typecast, making fun of scenes from serious movies, violence with no major consequences, obvious references to actions or names, lampooning with no purpose, casual scenes with many layers etc.
Siva, introduced as ‘Chandramukhi’ Rajini plays his part to his known character. His timing and dialogue delivery sets him apart. The rip offs from Thalapathy, Kakkha Kakkha, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu and many more don’t fail to tickle you. Siva over shadows all other characters just like that with his witty presence in every frame.
Music by Kannan is another fine element in the film. The cryptic ‘O Maha Zeeya’ is very watchable on screen. Other songs also match the mood and genre.
Director C S Amudhan is welcomed with open arms. He has revealed that there are still some facets of cinema still unknown to many. A brave new attempt for which there will be many followers in the future.

WWE wrestler Chris Jericho was arrested at a gas station in Kentucky early Wednesday morning after cops say he and a fellow wrestler were both "extremely intoxicated" in public.
39-year-old Jericho was taken into custody in Kenton County around 5 AM for "alcohol intoxication in a public place."
Jericho -- who was arrested along with fellow wrestler Greg "Hurricane" Helms -- was forced to smile for cop cam -- and TMZ obtained the mug shots.
Jericho and Helms were released on $120 bond for each.
Toyota Recall Model Affected
Toyota Motor Corp.'s (TM) quality concerns in the U.S. have spread to China, with a potential accelerator pedal flaw prompting the recall of 75,552 RAV4 sport-utility vehicles sold in the East Asian nation.
The recall will likely tarnish the Japanese auto maker's image in a country that auto makers have come to rely on for growth, and which last year overtook the U.S. to be the world's largest car market.
Earlier this week, Toyota halted sales of most of its popular models in the U.S. on safety concerns. It had recalled millions of vehicles in the U.S. last week following growing reports of unintended acceleration.
The recall in China is due to the same accelerator pad problem affecting the U.S. vehicles, China-based spokesman Niu Yu said Thursday. The company has not received any complaints or reports of injuries related to the flaw here, he said.
He declined to comment on how the recall would affect the company's profitability in China.
Toyota is a significant player in China's passenger vehicle market, with sales rising 21% in 2009 from a year earlier to 709,000 units. The RAV4, along with the Corolla and Camry sedans, helped to drive sales, it said in an earlier statement.
The RAV4 vehicles were made at Toyota's joint venture with China FAW Group Corp. between March 19, 2009, and Jan. 25, the company said. The Chinese company could not be immediately reached for comment. The recall is effective Feb. 28.
Toyota's global recall affects eight models, including Corollas and Camrys. However, the auto maker does not expect to recall other models in China for this flaw, Niu said, as the problematic part was only used in RAV4s.
Thursday's announcement compounds Toyota's public relations woes in China. It follows a massive recall in August, when Toyota recalled nearly 700,000 cars here because of faulty window-control systems. It has also had to recall in China Camry sedans for a brake problem.
Though Toyota has a respectable share of China's market, its sales last year lagged those of its rivals.
General Motor Co.'s sales soared 67% to 1.83 million units in 2009. Sales in China's overall auto market rose 46% to 13.6 million units, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers

Apple shares have risen about 1 per cent on analyst predictions that the surprisingly low price of the iPad will lead to “millions” of sales. Apple’s chief executive Steve Jobs launched the multipurpose device at a company event in San Francisco early this morning Australian time.
The initial price will be $US499 for the base 16-gigabyte version capable of displaying e-books, web content, movies and more. Analysts say the price and functionality sits the product somewhere between an iPhone and Apple’s Mac laptop computers.

The creative ad agency who came up PETA’s State of the Union Undress ad, a take-off on Obama’s upcoming State of the Union address using a hot black stripper as Obama in their raunchy ad was, like, awesome, dude! I mean, what a way to get people to think about KFC’s cruelty to animals and get the public to, you know, go vegan.
I doubt we’d of seen this type of ad a year ago when disrespecting Obama was frowned upon. But then again, this is PETA, the well funded vegan whores who’ve never shied away from controversy when trying to get attention.
I actually feel for Obama, and Michelle, who was also used in the ad. So was Congress, who, in the ad, were doing the “wink”, “wink”, nudge, nudge as the black stripper “took it off”.
Was PETA disrespectful to Obama? In one word, yes. PETA, using a black stripper as Obama, while speaking a raunchy dialogue as she strips in front of Congress is a mockery of Obama’s upcoming State of the Union address. And thus, mocks Obama. One has to wonder how well this ad would have been received one year ago?
Speaking of dress, or “undress” the stripper did “take it all off”.

Hours ahead of Apple’s top secret product launch of what’s believed to be its revolutionary tablet computer, a publishing boss in America has spilled the beans about the product.
In an interview on American business network CNBC, the chairman of publishing giant McGraw-Hill has let slip a handful of previously unknown facts about the computer, which he refers to as the ‘tablet’ and the ‘tabloid’.
“We have worked with Apple for quite a while - the tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system, and so it will be transferable,” said Terry McGraw.
So what you're going to be able to do now... we have a consortium of ebooks - we have 95% of all our materials that are in ebook format on that one - so with the tabloid you're going to open up the higher education market, the professional market. The tabloid, the tablet is going to be just really terrific.”
This leak won’t impress Apple head honcho Steve Jobs who, not only likes to keep his company’s secrets secret, but also has a fiery temper.
Maybe those ebooks won’t be making their way onto the new Apple device after all.
Metro Accident
Two Metro track workers were struck and killed by a piece of track equipment near the Rockville Metrorail station early Tuesday, officials said, the latest in a series of serious incidents that have plagued the system over the last year.
Red Line service will be disrupted during the morning rush hour as the incident is investigated. Red Line trains will not operate from the Shady Grove or Rockville stations; inbound trains will originate at Twinbrook, and outbound trains will end their routes at the Twinbrook station.

Britain's economy finally clawed its way out of its deepest recession since the 1930s in the fourth quarter of 2008, but it only managed to expand by a much weaker-than-expected 0.1%.
The keenly awaited figure compared with the average City forecast of 0.4% expansion. It brings to an end six consecutive quarters of contraction, which saw the economy shrink by around 6%, or 10% compared with where it would now have been had the slump not occurred.
But news of any growth will come as a relief to a Labour government facing an election within months.
A Treasury spokesman insisted chancellor Alistair Darling's predictions of a return to growth by the turn of the year had been vindicated by the figures. "What this estimate makes clear is that the government is right to be confident but cautious about the prospects for the economy and that it is right that we keep supporting the economy."
Shadow chancellor George Osborne said: "After this great recession, any signs of growth are welcome. But these very weak growth figures show that Gordon Brown's government left us badly prepared for the recession and badly prepared for the recovery.
"We urgently need a new model of economic growth that includes a credible deficit reduction plan that keeps mortgage rates low, creates jobs and doesn't choke off recovery."
Financial markets were unhappy with the figure. Sterling dropped against the dollar and euro, to €1.14 and $1.61 respectively on disappointment that the growth figure remained so weak. Gilt futures shot up, pushing yields lower as dealers reassessed their view of the underlying strength of the economy.
Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesman Vince Cable said: "The markets will be surprised that growth has been markedly slower than expected. Far from the quick recovery the Chancellor has been praying for, the economy is only just staggering back into growth.
TUC general secretary Brendan Barber agreed, adding: "These figures show just how fragile the economy is. With the threat of a double-dip recession looming large, it would be madness to cut public spending now.
"No sectors of the economy are fully recovered and areas such as construction are still really struggling."
Jonathan Loynes, economist at Capital Economics, said the figures were a "major blow" to hopes that the UK economy had emerged decisively from recession in the fourth quarter.
Few economists, though, expect the recovery to be very strong, as the economy remains weighed down by a still fragile banking sector and high consumer and government debt levels.
David Frost, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce, said:
"This is good news, but clearly growth is anaemic, and it certainly means that the economy is far from being out of the woods."
Some analysts think the economy has only returned to growth at all because of the extraordinary support from the Bank of England in the form of ultra-low interest rates and £200bn of "quantitative easing", as well as the government allowing the budget deficit to expand hugely.
If that support is removed too early, some argue, the economy could struggle to grow strongly. Most analysts are only expecting the economy to grow by around 1% this year, compared with its long-run annual average of 2.5%.
The Office for National Statistics revealed that the weak growth extended across the economy with industry and the dominant services sector only growing by 0.1% each in the October to December period compared to the previous three months.
"Today's fourth quarter GDP numbers have confirmed that the UK has finally exited recession – but barely," said James Knightley, economist at ING financial markets.
"The recent retail sales numbers have disappointed, as has consumer confidence, while consumer fundamentals remain very poor. Indeed, household indebtedness remains at very high levels and household incomes are under downward pressure from a weak labour market and higher taxes."
Separate figures released by the British Bankers Association showed another net repayment of consumer credit in December, especially of overdrafts and personal loans.
"This was clearly the consequence of many consumers' desire to reduce their debt, low demand for credit and a lack of availability of unsecured credit from banks. It is yet another example of consumers looking to improve their financial situations in the still challenging and worrying economic environment," said Howard Archer, chief economist at IHS Global Insight.

Bonanza actor Pernell Roberts dies aged 81
The actor, who was the last surviving cast member of the long-running series, also portrayed the title role in MASH spin-off Trapper John, MD.
Roberts initially found fame alongside Lorne Greene, Michael Landon and Dan Blocker as the oldest of Bonanza's three Nevada rancher siblings.
But he shocked Hollywood by leaving the show at the height of its popularity.
The series continued without him, eventually becoming - after Gunsmoke - the longest-running TV western in US history.
Blocker and Landon, who played Adam's younger brothers Hoss and Little Joe, died in 1972 and 1991 respectively.
Greene, who played patriarch Ben Cartwright before going on to appear in Battlestar Galactica, passed away in 1987.
Cartwright's departure from Bonanza was motivated in part by his disenchantment with his character's subordinate relationship to Greene's.
"Doesn't it seem a bit silly for three adult males to get Father's permission for everything they do?" he once complained.
Following his exit, the actor went on to make guest appearances in such shows as Hawaii Five-O, Mission Impossible and Ironside.
His role in Trapper John, MD saw him portray an older version of MASH's Korean War surgeon, played by Elliot Gould in Robert Altman's film and Wayne Rogers in its TV spin-off.

The world of secondary tickets for sporting events, shows and concerts is murky at its best, and downright fraudulent at its worst. I have first hand knowledge of this industry and wrote about it a year ago.
A lot of cash changes hands, making accounting difficult and tax evasion a competitive necessity for ticket brokers that want to stay ahead. A common practice among brokers is to sell a ticket to a consumer first and then go and find the ticket afterwards. If the broker misjudged the pricing – which is common – they often back out of the transaction. And since many states regulate or outright prohibit the secondary sale of tickets, the whole market tends to be a grey area, leading to further erosion of consumer confidence and even higher prices. Adding to the confusion – counterfeit tickets are still very common.
That never stopped eBay from diving into the business head first (while avoiding relatively tame markets like virtual goods). And they doubled-down last January with their $310 million acquisition of secondary ticket marketplace Stubhub.
But a new class of startups is emerging that is starting to securitize the ticket industry in ways that work very similar to the stock market. One startup, Yoonew, is pushing the envelope more than most.
For now Yoonew is focusing on football tickets, and the Super Bowl is their big event. People pay $2,000 or more (lots more) for Super Bowl tickets. If you want a good seat, and buy from a reputable broker (this is a relative term), you are quite simply going to be paying a staggering amount of money. If you wait to the last minute you might get a deal, particularly if the teams aren’t a draw. But you also run the risk of paying a lot more, or not getting in at all.
Behind the scenes are the market makers – the very select few individuals who actually have their hands on the tickets. These include players and NFL officials, official partners to the NFL, and the people who purchase tickets from them. How much they pay for those tickets is based on their analysis of the game economics, and they are putting serious capital at risk every year. They then turn around and sell those tickets to the public. If they’re good they make a lot of money. If not, they can lose their business over a single game.
Yoonew is productizing that risk and bringing it down to the level of the individual ticket buyer – people who actually want to attend the game. Instead of buying a ticket early and not knowing if your team will even make it, people can simply buy a contract that delivers a ticket at no additional charge if their team makes it. If the team doesn’t make it, they’re out whatever they paid for the contract.
Prices are market based – and contracts can be purchased for as little as a few hundred dollars (prices are rising steadily now as the chances of any particular remaining team making it go up dramatically). That’s a big lure for rabid fans who can’t otherwise afford to attend the game. They pay now, and hope for the best.

Sundance Film Festival 2010 Live
The best performance I saw all day Friday at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival?
That would have to be the Park City shuttle bus driver who, in the midst of a heavy snowstorm and heavier 4:30 p.m. traffic, went from a bus stop at the curb across two lanes of bumper-to-bumper traffic to make a left turn at a stoplight less than a block away. Now THAT deserved a standing ovation.
It's not surprising that it snows in Park City during Sundance. After all, it's the mountains, it's a ski area, it's winter.
But braving the elements on Friday at Sundance - an unrelenting downfall of snow that seemed to never want to stop - was a little like combining a film festival with the Iditarod. You could get from one end of the day to the other if you persevered, but not without getting a solid blast of winter weather and, probably, a set of wet feet (thanks to the treacherous slush puddles that seemed to lurk innocuously at many curbsides).
Still, if you chose your films wisely, the struggle was worth the effort. My day began early and, before the day was out, encompassed five fascinating films and an interview. I'll have more about the interview - with actress-director Katie Aselton of The Freebie - tomorrow.
One of the most unique films is the one I'll say the least about right now: Adrian Grenier's Teenage Paparazzo, a documentary in which the Entourage star (who directed the extremely moving personal doc, Shot in the Dark, in 2002) explores the world of modern paparazzi through the experiences of a 14-year-old pap he met and befriended. I'm talking to Grenier on Sunday, the same day I'm seeing Smash His Camera, a documentary about another legendary sidewalk celeb snapper, Ron Galella. I'll say more about both films after that.
New Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts | Super Bowl 2010 time
Hurricane Katrina had literally washed away everything they owned and held dear. But less than four and a half years later it was a dramatically different story as 71,276 cheering fans inside that same Superdome roared as New Orleans Saints kicker Garrett Hartley whacked a football squarely through the goal posts in overtime Sunday to win the NFC championship game against the Minnesota Vikings 31-28 and send the Saints to the Super Bowl for the very first time. The win sent a much-needed jolt of adrenaline and joy through a city still recovering from the life-altering flood.
"This is for everybody in this city, " Coach Sean Payton told The Times-Picayune. "This stadium used to have holes in it and used to be wet. It's not wet anymore. This is for the city of New Orleans."
The win reduced grown men to tears, set off spontaneous partying in the road (Bourbon Street and beyond) and sparked a different kind of rain — of the black and gold confetti variety. The Times Picayune, NOLA's paper of record, explained the significance of the win this way:
"Through all the Mardi Gras parades, Sugar Bowls, Jazz and Essence Festivals, New Orleans has never partied like this. Nearly five years after Hurricane Katrina wrecked this city, severely damaged the Dome and left unprecedented damages, some questioned if New Orleans would ever recover, let alone party like this."
(And for the paper to claim that this is biggest party New Orleans has ever seen — well, that says something.)
Now, the city is gearing up for the big game in Miami in two weeks, where the Saints will face off against the Indianapolis Colts. If excitement alone could lead to victory, the Saints seem assured a Super Bowl win.
"This is a pretty surreal moment," Saints QB Drew Brees told the Times-Picayune. "Words just can't describe the feeling. When you think back to four years ago, coming back here post-Katrina ... I could never have imagined that things would have worked out the way that they have. But we had a goal and we had a dream back then and it was to have this opportunity to go and play for a Super Bowl championship."
In a city that has been through so much in such a short time, I know who I'll be rooting for on Super Bowl Sunday, as will so many people across the nation — and the world.

The details are not available but it is said that there is a $1,725 bail. Last year Shannon Price, Gary Coleman's wife, was arrested for domestic violence incident involving Gary. They couple even made an appearance, in 2008, on the reality TV show "Divorce Court." I wonder how much money they got to do that?

Salvador Cabanas | Salvador Cabanas Shot | Paraguayan Soccer Player
According to several reports from Mexico, Paraguayan international Salvador Cabanas has been shot in the head after visiting a bar in Mexico City with some of his friends and relatives.
The incident reportedly took place at 5.30 PM local time. Cabanas got involved in a bar-fight which eventually culminated in a shoot-out in the bathroom area of the bar.
The 29-year-old was immediately rushed to a Los Angeles hospital by ambulance. It's not yet known how serious the injuries are, but the report suggests that Cabanas'condition is critical and that the Paraguay star is fighting for his life.
According to official information from the attorney general of Mexico City, Miguel Angel Mancera, two people arrested were arrested after the shooting.
Cabanas currently plies his trade at Mexican outfit America and is an integral part of Paraguay's national side.

Padma Awards 2010
133 eminent personalities from different fields have been conferred with the country’s most important civilian awards, the Padma Awards. This includes 10 Padma Vibhushan, 30 Padma Bhushan and 93 Padma Shree.
Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Anil Kakodkar, ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair, noted environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna, prominent social activist Sister Nirmala and Ashok S Ganguly, a member of the PM's Council on Trade and Industry are among the ten recipients of Padma Vibhushan.
Thirty persons were awarded with Padma Bhushan. Most important among them are India’s first Olympic Gold medalist Abhinav Bindra, technocrat and chairman of the National Knowledge Commission Sam Pitroda, journalist Shekhar Gupta, historian Ramchandra Guha, Lt Gen (retd) Satish Nambiar.
The list of Padma Shree awards includes some popular names including team India skipper M S Dhoni, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, snooker and billiards player Pankaj Advani, Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Helen, composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar and singers Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and Penaz Masani.
Earlier the country’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna has been conferred on noted 86-year-old Indian classical vocalist Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.
James Mitchell, who played ruthless tycoon Palmer Cortlandt on US daytime soap All My Children, has died aged 89.
Mitchell, a dancer who began his career with the American Ballet Theater, died on Friday in a Los Angeles hospital, his partner Albert Wolsky said.
The actor had suffered from heart disease for several years, complicated by a recent bout of pneumonia.
His final TV appearance was on All My Children's 40th anniversary episode earlier this month.
Mitchell had been a mainstay of the show from 1979 - 2008, playing the icy, wealthy patriarch of the Cortlandt family.
"He really enjoyed it," Wolsky said of his partner's long-running role. "The meaner he could be, the happier he was.
"Actors love to play the villain. He loved playing mean."

Born in Sacramento in 1920, Mitchell had a degree in theatre from Los Angeles City College.
Prior to his soap career, he was a Broadway star, playing lead roles in the likes of Brigadoon, Carousel, Billion Dollar Baby and Paint Your Wagon.

Ethiopian plane leaving Lebanon with 90 on board crashes into sea. An Ethiopian Airlines plane with 90 people on board crashed into the sea early Monday just minutes after takeoff from Beirut, the transportation minister said.
The cause was not immediately known. But police ruled out terrorism and said the crash was likely weather-related. It had been raining heavily and lightning in Beirut on Sunday.
The Boeing 737-800 took off around 2:30 a.m. (7:30 p.m. EST) for the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, said Ghazi Aridi, the public works and transportation minister.
"The weather undoubtedly was very bad," Aridi told reporters at the airport. He added that the plane went down about 2 miles (3.5 kilometres) off the Lebanese coast.
Helicopters and naval ships were scrambled to find the plane.
Ethiopian Airlines released a statement on its Web site confirming the plane was missing.
"A team is already working on gathering all pertinent information," the statement said. "An investigative team has already been dispatched to the scene and we will release further information as further updates are received."
Calls to the airline were not immediately returned.
The plane was carrying 90 people, including 83 passengers and 7 crew. Aridi identified the passengers as 54 Lebanese, 22 Ethiopians, one Iraqi, one Syrian, one Canadian of Lebanese origin, one Russian of Lebanese origin, a French woman and two Britons of Lebanese origin

As host, Blake Lively was firmly in the plucky-not-awful tradition. It was one of those SNLs when you felt the rest of the cast had been enlisted to make sure the host was always surrounded by enough activity so that it wouldn’t look as though she was responsible for the dull patches. She did not do her version of Riverdance, which she performed so charmingly on Jimmy Fallon and had promised Fallon’s audience she’d do on SNL as well. That, I think, would have gone over a lot better than the Muppet Show scene that occurred during her monologue.
Early on there were a couple of dud political sketches — SNL got its obligatory Salahi party-crasher joke out of the way in the cold-open, and a little later committed its obligatory Tiger Woods sketch, framed as a CNN news report. I think it’s a good rule of thumb to never parody anything to do with CNN — the tediousness of that network infects everything it touches.
The night’s only Gossip Girl reference that I caught came in a sketch called Gossip Girl Staten Island. Its trite premise – that working-class folks are crass – was rendered instantly irrelevant earlier this week, when MTV premiered the reality show Jersey Shore, a far more vulgar and vivid piece of junk-TV.

Caymans Islands Earthquake 5.8
A 5.8 earthquake shook the Cayman Islands, south of Cuba on Tuesday morning, reports said.
On Monday morning, a strong earthquake rocked Guatemala and parts of El Salvador, but no there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in either country.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.0.
The USGS says it hit Monday morning about 60 miles (97 kilometers) southwest of Guatemala City, where it was felt by many residents. There were reports of shaking in the Guatemalan countryside and in El Salvador as well.
Civil protection officials in the two countries says so far there are no reports of injuries or damage, but authorities are still checking.

Kieron Pollard and Shane Bond were the biggest buys at the third IPL auction on Tuesday, each fetching the maximum possible bid of $750,000 before the bids went into tie-breaker, but the biggest surprise was the fact that not a single Pakistan player was signed up.

A right-hand allrounder - he bats in the middle order and bowls medium-pace - Kieron Pollard, who represented West Indies in the 2006 Under-19 World Cup, hit the national headlines when he smashed 83 for Trinidad and Tobago in the Stanford 20/20 in August 2006, and then underlined that potential with 126 on his first-class debut five months later. It was not only that he scored a hundred so much as the way he did so, taking 71 balls and smashing six sixes, including one of them as his first scoring stroke. Nine days later he was named in the provisional 30-man squad for the World Cup, and in his third first-class game he scored a second hundred, again including six sixes. Pollard made his ODI debut for in a World Cup match against South Africa and was then recalled for an ODI series against New Zealand in late 2008. He thrilled Indian audiences during the Champions League Twenty20 in October 2009 and his 18-ball 54 for T&T against New South Wales increased his international demand. IPL Auction Live - IPL Auction 2010 | IPL 3 Auction | Indian Premier League 2010 | IPl 2010 Auction Lis0730: Graeme Swann failed to attract a single bidder at the Indian Premier League auction on Tuesday morning sending a clear message that the limited availability of England’s players has put off potential buyers.
But there was good news for Eoin Morgan. England’s Irish one-day batsman joins Kevin Pietersen at Bangalore Royal Challengers on a $220,000 contract, only $1.3m lower than his England colleague.
Morgan, unlike Swann, is only a member of the England one-day squad in Bangladesh and is therefore available for almost the entire IPL.
Swann, the England off-spinner, was priced at the highest level and was named in the first pool of players to be sold, normally reserved for the highest profile cricketers, but his name was greeted with silence in the auction room at the New Trident Hotel.
The fact Swann had an incredible 2009 in Test cricket, which saw him reach number three in the world rankings for bowlers, made no difference with IPL sources confirming that his limited availability ruled him out.
Due to England’s tour to Bangladesh Swann would have only have been able to play in the final three weeks of the IPL.
Instead the franchises spent their cash on West Indian allrounder Kieron Pollard and New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond, who were both sold for the maximum value of $750,000 after a controversial closed tie-break round.
Franchises were only able to bid a maximum of $750,000 but if more than one side pledged the maximum price for a player then a sealed bid secured their signing.
Mumbai Indians outbid Chennai, Bangalore and Calcutta to sign Pollard, who can play in the entire IPL. Calcutta then entered another tie-break but this time were successful in beating Deccan to Bond, who at 34 and recently retired from Test cricket, has a very lucrative final payday.
Bond was barred from the first two IPL tournaments because of his links to the rebel Indian Cricket League.
